I was helped by Ash, Meg, and the individual with the amazing blue hair (I am sorry I did not get your name!), and they all provided great suggestions. You are able to shop online and in-store; one of the staff members will let you into the building when you get to the front door (just give them a sec to walk over. :) They have so many options for makeup kits/individual colors, brushes, special effects, body paint, makeup removers and applicators, etc. They also have travel containers and de-potting make-up supplies. This is my new favorite store, for many reasons. Reason #1:The staff interactions with each other were also friendly and supportive, and they seemed genuinely passionate about their craft. I think employee demeanor can often be an indicator of how well management treats their staff, so it feels good to know I am supporting a business where the staff actually seem happy. Reason #2: HUGE selection of products. Nicely organized. I feel like it is the Ikea store for professional makeup. Reason #3: I also loved how the staff will listen to you and work with your budget. They do not make you feel pressured to purchase items or make you feel bad for inquiring about price points. If similar products had different price points, they explained the pros and cons of each item, and other team members would also provide additional suggestions. Their suggestions very much felt supportive as opposed to a sales pitch. Note: Help them help you! Besides the budget, I would also recommend letting them know how you plan to use the product (ex: location of use - all over the body, just the face/hair, will you be outside, etc.) and any personal concerns (e.g., sensitive to fragrances/ingredients, sweat production). Reason #4: Knowledge and Advise. I am not very familiar with stage/performance makeup, so having help understanding the different products and brands available was great. I wanted to find products that could withstand heat/sweat/friction, and not all product ingredients may work nicely together. The staff did a wonderful job identifying items that would help me complete my friend's cosplay for Dragon Con (black pigment for the hands and setting spray that is durable and super sweat resistant). They even gave me some tips and product suggestions for applying and removing the makeup I purchased. Purchased items I have used: - Beauty So Clean Cosmetic Sanitizer Mist ($29.99): great for cleaning makeup between uses, especially if you are sharing makeup with friends for conventions - Inglot soap brows ($12): I LOVE this product. I bought this for cosplay purposes but am now apply it for everyday use. Great hold and it has a very light scent, which smells great! - Inglot playinn waterproof eyeliner gel in Millennial Pink ($14): beautiful color; goes on smoothly and has amazing water and rub resistance. I got caught in the rain and rubbed my eyes (I forgot I had the eyeliner on) and it did not budge! - Kryolan eyebrow plastic ($10.80): I needed this to block out dark, think eyelashes for a cosplay. INCREDIBLE coverage and hold; really smooths out the surface for makeup application. -DM beauty colorfix matte in Blackout ($18.00): Originally got this to use on the body, but it is also safe to use on the face (multipurpose). It is now one of my favorite eyeliners. I have monolids and more oily prone skin and it did not budge after 8 hours of wear, even without setting spray/powder. -Mehron Starblend cake makeup in Black ($11.95, 1.4 oz): can be wet or dry. Great color and hold on the face and hair; we are using hair spray to make it water/sweat resistant. They also have smaller refills for $7.95 (0.4 oz). - Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ in Dark Matter ($11.95, 1.4 oz): Y'all... this is an amazing product that is clear/sheer in visible light but glows blue under a blacklight. I was honestly surprised how well it glowed! For reference, I used a copper wire 395-400 nm LED blacklight ("fairy light") for the test. Blacklight range is ~350-400 nm, so a stronger blacklight would be something like 385 or 365 nm.

Amazing! If you are looking for makeup, special effects items this is the place to go. I stopped in for a few specific items and ended up spending much more time checking everything out. They have a great selection for all theater or Halloween or everyday needs. They do not sell costumes. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Masks are required to enter and the staff all wear mask correctly. The front door may be locked but ring the bell and they will let you in.

This is my go to store for professional makeup supplies. I have been shopping here since before “the change” and have always been pleased with the service and selection. Meghan and her staff always make an effort to get me what I need, even if they have to go out of their way to do it. I will continue to support this local business and know many professional peers that do as well. Their service is vital to our growing industry as it is the only store in the region that offers the extensive supplies that they do. Thank you Meghan for all of your hard work and support for our community!

I have been a professional artist for over 20 years and Norcostco is hands down the best place in Atlanta to go when I need to stock my kit. The staff are very knowledgable about products and techniques and can help you with anything from beauty, to television, film, fx, and everything in between. I cannot recommend them enough and, added bonus, they have a pro discount!

:o( This is a fact. Two of my students shopped this store recently and were not happy with the service. As an ex-employee, this is hurtful to hear. They left without purchasing anything even after I encouraged them to get the things they needed. They felt as though they were being mistreated because of the color of their beautiful black skin. My students frequent this store. Customers have shared concerns about biases in previous comments. As the manager of the store, Meghan, it is my hope that you will treat us all the same. We have money and would like to support your store as we always have.
